Dear friends and colleagues,
We are pleased to welcome you cordially to the 12th International Bordetella symposium, which will be held in Brussels, from April 9th to April 12th, 2019 in honour of Jules Bordet, who received his Nobel Prize 100 years ago, in 1919.
The main events of meeting will take place in the Jules Bordet auditorium of the Université Libre de Bruxelles Medical Faculty, the University where Jules Bordet used to teach Immunology as a Professor.
This symposium will be a privileged occasion to share the latest findings on Bordetella among scientists, scholars, public health, veterinary and medical personnel of the Bordetella research community. All aspects on Bordetella will be covered, especially
- Clinical and epidemiological aspects of pertussis
- Bordetella biology and pathogenesis
- Immunity and vaccination
- Bordetellae other than pertussis in human and veterinary medicine
- Evolutionary and genomic aspects of Bordetella
Special attention will be paid to new research and findings, especially from young investigators and newcomers in the field. As you can see in the preliminary program, in this edition of the international Bordetella meetings, most slots for speakers are reserved for participants selected by the international scientific committee based on their abstract.
We are convinced that you will enjoy this meeting and the associated social program, as well as a visit of charming Brussels, the Capital of Europe, and possibly other worthwhile places in Belgium.
Looking forward to meeting you all in April 2019,
